Department of "Mechanical Engineering" was founded in 1895 by Academician of RAS, Doctor of Technical Sciences Vladimirom Petrovichem Larionovym at the Department of Social Sciences, which existed since the founding of the Faculty of Education Yakut State University this NEFU.

Since 1992, the department prepares a wide profile for the road transport engineers-teachers. The main activity of the teacher - engineers, production workers in the field of transportation and senior officials of the republican scale.

Graduates can work in various enterprises and service firm service of motor vehicles, including service stations, leasing, dealer companies, repair shops, regardless of ownership.
