The International Competence Center WorldSkills to open at NEFU

From April 16 to 26, 2018, there was a qualifying championship for the right to participate in the national finals "Young Professionals" WorldSkills Russia-2018 in Moscow. The delegation of North-Eastern Federal University took part in the competence "Industrial Design".

The delegation included a student Andrey Vinokurov and a graduate student of NEFU Institute of Physics and Technology, an expert compatriot Anatoly Everstov. Both are members of NEFU IPT Laboratory of Additive Technologies under the leadership of the manager of the Russian Federation competence "Team work in production" and the national expert of the competence "Reversing Engineering" Roman Gogolev.

NEFU team entered the TOP-10 regions, which entered the qualifying competitions for technical and creative competence. "This indicates that today we are developing a unique "northern" school of additive technologies that meets the highest standards from engineers, designers and technicians of the new generation", Roman Gogolev said.

"The competence “Industrial Design” is a Russian development in the context of the WorldSkills International movement, as the competence “Reverse Engineering” of FutureSkills, for which we will conduct a demonstration exam according to WorldSkills standards for the first time in history", said Roman Gogolev. - In addition, the professional community of experts of industrial design and reverse engineering entrusted North-Eastern Federal University and the university's Laboratory of Additive Technologies with the task of establishment the International Competence Center, after which NEFU will become a key point for the development of Russian competencies in the world arena".

Students of the Laboratory of Additive Technologies are already competing for a place in the national team of the Russian Federation in the field of "CAD Engineering", according to the national expert of WorldSkills Russia. "I hope that soon we will be able to say that our graduates will massively have hard skills at a competitive level according to the requirements of the leading companies", said Roman Gogolev. - For example, the best world and Russian practices of such companies as Schneider electric, Rostech, MIT, Stec Co, Voronezhselmash and others are the basis for the preparation of participants in the competence "Team work in production".
