NEFU Medical Institute will open a clinical base in Perinatal Center of Yakutia

The Medical Institute of North-Eastern Federal University will be in the new Perinatal Center. Students and residents of three departments will base in the modern institution of delivery care.

So, within the clinical practice, it is planned to involve the students of the obstetrics and gynecology department in the prenatal and postnatal case management, and the students of the pediatrics and children's surgery department will study neonatology. The residents of postgraduate studies for doctors will start an internship in departments of the center, the medical institute informed.

In addition, the center plans to open simulator training rooms with equipment for obstetrics and neonatology from the Simulator Center of the Medical Institute. According to Nikolai Gogolev, the director of the Medical Institute of NEFU , the clinical base is being opened within the framework of the agreement on practice-oriented training of specialists with the National Center of Medicine of the Republic of Sakha. Soon, the additional contract with the Perinatal Center will be awarded.

As it was reported, the basic construction of the center is completed, furniture is being installed in the classrooms.

The Perinatal Center of the Republic of Sakha is the institution of delivery care of the third level, where pregnant women with a high risk group and premature births from the whole republic are concentrated.
