NEFU experts will present advanced methods of teaching the Russian language at the forum "Russian Studies in Russia and China: Innovative Practices"

The meeting of the presidium of the Asia-Pacific Association of Russian Language and Literature was held in Vladivostok on January 18. Svetlana Petrova, the Chairman of the Yakut branch of the association, professor of the NEFU, provided information on the International Forum of Russian and Chinese Russian language specialists.

Thus, at the meeting, which included 41 people, the plan of measures for 2018, including the Yakutsk regional branch, was adopted and approved. At the meeting Svetlana Petrova, the Professor of the Faculty of Philology, made a presentation on the forum in order to exchange experience in teaching Russian as a foreign language in Chinese audience.

"Aleksandr Zubritsky, the President of the Association approved the initiative of the NEFU. The forum will be held April 21-22 in Harbin," Svetlana Petrova says. "Experts from different Russian universities will be invited to participate in this landmark event."

Within the framework of the Decade of the Russian Language in universities of China in December last year, NEFU specialists talked about their methods of teaching Russian to foreigners using the graphic-symbolic analysis of works of literature. "Then our Chinese colleagues became very interested in this methodology and offered us to introduce them to the practical side. Thus the idea of holding the forum "Russian Studies in Russia and China: Innovative Practices" was born," the professor said. The forum will be held within the framework of the Grant of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation "Russian language", which was won by NEFU specialists in 2017.

Let us remind that NEFU Faculty of Philology became the regional branch of the Asia-Pacific Association of Russian Language and Literature in 2017.
