11 students of North-Eastern Federal University take part in the student's Engineering Design Forum "Interdisciplinary Capstone Design Program". Within three weeks, students will comprehend the basics of engineering construction and develop projects.

The forum consists of three parts: in the first participants will visit expert and various thematic lectures, in the second - the teams will learn project work, prepare layouts for the project and the third, final part, - the defense of projects and ideas.

"Within the frameworks of the forum, the professors of Myongji University conduct basic lectures for the participants on how to set the goal correctly, what stages should be in the development of the project, how to prepare presentations, and so on. Also, a wide cultural program is organized, as the aim of the forum is not only to create and defend projects, but also communication - intercultural exchange", said Innokenty Sivtsev, leading specialist at NEFU Institute of the East.

Last academic year, the forum was also held on the basis of Maksim Ammosov Federal University, where students of economic and technical specialties have been developing engineering projects for three weeks under the guidance of Professor Jin-Ho Cho of Myongji University.

Then the students presented the ideas of an ultrasonic anti-mosquito bracelet, an autonomous warm house for installation on winter roads, mini hydro power plant on Indigirka River to provide electricity to the village Honuu in the Momsky Region of Yakutia.

This year the participants of the forum were students not only of technical and economic specialties, but also pedagogical, humanities and natural sciences. The Engineering Design Forum will end on January 8, 2018.
