NEFU business incubator resident shared his experience with young participants of the IT festival "STEP IT"

The best IT specialists in Yakutia act as project experts, speakers, and coaches at the IT festival “STEP IT”. “Tuoi Toy” company, a resident of OREH student business incubator of North-Eastern Federal University, told about its success in the world market.

Co-founder of the company, 3D designer Ivan Petrov noted that the children were deeply interested in Tuoi Toy projects and his profession. “I noticed that the guys need to improve their knowledge and skills constantly. To become the best, you cannot be satisfied with what has already been achieved: you should learn English alongside the design. Tomorrow I will also give a master class on ZBrush program, which we use in our work - we model our toys,” he commented.

The participants of the distance festival "STEP IT" were pupils of the 8-10 grades attending classes of the Educational Centers of Digital and Humanitarian Profiles "Growth Point". “In the field of IT, you can learn to develop games, websites. I also want to create figurines like Tuoi Toy and make money doing this. I enjoyed meeting with their designer. My favorite game is Counter-Strike, maybe I would make some figurines for this game,” shared Anton Makarov, an 8th-grade student.

Gulnara Abdrakhmanova, a 9th-grade student of secondary school No. 5 in Aikhal, chooses between the IT sphere and medicine. “I haven’t decided yet what profession to choose. I am interested in pharmacology and the development of various websites. I study English and Computer Science. At the master class, I liked lecturer's story about what his company has achieved, how it reached the world level,” said Gulnara Abdrakhmanova.

Lectures, trainings, seminars, master classes are held within the frameworks of the IT festival. The subject of the festival is based on the need to share the best practices for creating digital projects with participants, to find directions, to choose technologies taking into account regional specific features from the leading IT specialists in Yakutia. The most distinguished participants are admitted to the non-competitive selection for the project IT shift of “Sirius” Regional Center based on the Junior Academy of Sciences of Yakutia.
