The attendees of the Open Day at the Institute for Development of Professional Competences and Qualifications "Open" of North-Eastern Federal University in Yakutsk libraries learned about additional professional education at the university, in particular, about the possibilities of NEFU APE portal.

“Additional professional education helps a person to develop, gain knowledge and improve throughout his life. At our institute, students acquire specific professional knowledge and skills, as well as improve the existing ones. We implement educational programs of professional development and retraining courses using new methods and technologies: off-site courses, distance technologies, funded system, individual approach, case technologies, electronic educational complexes. This allows you to gain knowledge without interrupting your main job,” said Maya Kurneva, director of the Open Institute.

The first experimental Open Day "Additional professional education at NEFU" was organized jointly with the Centralized Library System of Yakutsk. Library visitors received individual online consultations on the choice of specialty and APE programs at the educational departments of NEFU. In the future, the organizers plan the participation of all educational departments of the university, which will present current programs and courses. Career guidance consultations are also provided.

It should be noted that the Institute for Development of Professional Competences and Qualifications “Open” offers students 10 professional retraining courses and 12 advanced training courses from 16 to 240 hours. The most popular directions are Management and Teaching.
