Freshman Day to be held online at NEFU

On October 16, North-Eastern Federal University will celebrate Freshman Day online. The university prepares a concert program and gifts for new students.

This academic year, 4,251 people became NEFU freshmen. Due to the epidemiological situation in the republic, the celebration of NEFU Freshman Day will be held via ZOOM platform, which can be joined by 5,000 people. “At the event, traditional congratulations of the university leadership and invited officials are planned, the freshman pledge and parting words from the senior students will be announced. In addition, the university is preparing a concert program, a creative video competition "Hello, NEFU!" with the participation of all freshmen of educational departments and branches of the university", - comments Vice Rector for Extracurricular Work and Youth Policy Aleksandr Ilyin.

Videos of congratulatory speeches will be used at the event. “The preparation of the cultural and entertainment program is carried out in compliance with all prescribed safety measures. The university takes care of its students, but also wants to create a festive atmosphere on a special day for them, even online,” added Dora Pakhomova, head of the organizational and protocol department of NEFU.

Let us remember that last year's Freshman Day gathered more than seven thousand students at the Yunost Stadium. The freshman parade was dedicated to the 10th NEFU anniversary. The evening program was charitable.
