Background of the International Conference on Mathematical Modeling in Yakutsk

The International Conference on Mathematical Modelling (ICMM) is devoted to one of the dynamically developing fields of mathematics - mathematical modelling, discussion of modern problems of mathematical physics, state and development of mathematical modelling in ecology and economics, in particular in development of northern territories of the Russian Federation.

 I International Conference on Mathematical Modelling, 1994.

On September 15-19, 1994 Yakutsk hosted the first international conference on Mathematical Modelling. It was devoted to the 60th Anniversary of Higher Education in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia). The conference discussed seventy-eight presentations on actual problems of mathematical modeling, including 10 plenary ones. Corresponding Member of RAS A.N. Konovalov, Corresponding Member of RAS V.N. Monakhov, Academician of the Academy of Technological Sciences of the Russian Federation V.N. Vragov (Novosibirsk) chaired plenary sessions. International scientists Prof. M. Yamamoto, University of Tokyo (Japan), Prof. J. Lambert, Department of Mathematics, University of Alaska Fairbanks (USA), Prof. R.E. Schoulter, University of Texas (USA), and scientists from Moscow, Novosibirsk, Khabarovsk, Angarsk, Chita, Kazan attended the conference. In addition, a number of reports were made by students of the Mathematics Department of Yakutsk State University.

II International Conference on Mathematical Modelling, 1997

From June 28 to July 2, 1997 Yakutsk hosted the Second International Conference on Mathematical Modelling devoted to the Year of Education in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) and to the 365th Anniversary of Yakutsk. Leading scientists from Moscow, Novosibirsk, Minsk, Khabarovsk, and Yakutsk participated in the conference. Among them: an academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 2 corresponding members of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 25 Doctors of Sciences. The conference was attended by deputy chairman of the Program Committee, Corresponding member of RAS A.N. Konovalov (Novosibirsk), Corresponding member of RAS V.N. Monakhov (Novosibirsk), Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences A.I. Kozhanov (Novosibirsk), P.P. Matus (Minsk), P.N. Vabishchevich (Moscow), A.G. Zarubin (Khabarovsk), RAS Academician G.F. Krymsky (Yakutsk) and others. The conference presented and discussed 84 papers, including 10 plenary ones.

After the conference a collection of abstracts was published.

 

III International Conference on Mathematical Modelling, 2001

The Third International Conference on Mathematical Modelling was held July 1-July 6, 2001 in Yakutsk. Leading scientists from Dushanbe, Yekaterinburg, Moscow, Novosibirsk, Chelyabinsk, Khabarovsk, Mirny, and Yakutsk participated in the conference, among them: Academician of RAS, Corresponding Member of RAS, 29 Doctors in Physics and Mathematics, and Engineering. Young researchers and graduate students from universities and research institutes of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) took an active part in the conference. During the conference, 12 plenary and 55 section presentations were made.

The conference was conducted in three sections:

1. Conditionally-corrected problems and nonclassical equations of Mathematical Physics.

2. Mathematical Modeling in Ecology and Economics.

3. Mathematical Modelling of Problems of Northern Territories Exploitation.

IV International Conference on Mathematical Modelling, 2004

The Fourth International Conference on Mathematical modeling was held on July 27-31, 2004 in “Lensky Kray”, the Physics and Mathematics Forum in Chapaevo village, Khangalassky district (“Lenskiy Kray” forum is situated in a picturesque place at a distance of 55 km from Yakutsk).

The conference program consisted of the following sections:

1. Conditionally correct problems and non-classical equations of Mathematical Physics.

2. Mathematical Modeling of Problems of Development of Northern Territories.

3. Mathematical modeling in Economics and Ecology.

4. Methods of discrete Mathematics and their applications.

V. N. Monakhov, RAS Academician, Chairman of the Program Committee (Institute of Hydrodynamics, SB RAS, Novosibirsk) opened the Conference. The plenary sessions were chaired by I.A. Taimanov, RAS Corresponding Member (Institute of Mathematics, SB RAS, Novosibirsk), V.G. Romanov, RAS Corresponding Member (Institute of Mathematics, SB RAS, Novosibirsk).

The conference presented 12 plenary and 73 sectional papers.

V International Conference on Mathematical Modelling, 2007

The Fifth International Conference on Mathematical Modelling was held on July 24-28, 2007 in Yakutsk. The conference was supported by the Russian Foundation for Basic Research grant (#07-01-06039).

The Conference was dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Academician V.N. Monakhov. Leading scientists from Vladivostok, Mirny, Khanty-Mansiysk, Novosibirsk, Moscow, Khabarovsk, Tomsk, Kemerovo, Yakutsk took part in the conference including a member of Russian Academy of Sciences, 3 Corresponding Members of Russian Academy of Sciences, 17 Doctors of Physics-Mathematics, and Engineering. Young researchers and graduate students from universities and research institutes of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) took the most active part in the conference. 

Sections of the conference:

1. Conditionally correct problems and non-classical equations of Mathematical Physics.

2. Methods of discrete Mathematics and their applications.

3. Mathematical modeling in Ecology and Economics.

4. Mathematical modeling of problems in the development of northern territories.

VI International Conference on Mathematical Modeling, 2011

On July 3-8, 2011 Yakutsk hosted the VI International Conference on Mathematical Modeling supported by the NEFU Development Program, the Russian Foundation for Basic Research grant (No. 11-01-06041-g), and the Ministry of Science and Vocational Education of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia).

183 participants attended the conference including leading scientists from Great Britain, China, Japan, the USA, as well as from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, Khanty-Mansiysk, Krasnoyarsk, Yakutsk. Among the speakers: G.F. Krymsky, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Institute of Cosmophysical Research and Aeronomy SB RAS, Yakutsk), V.V. Voevodin, Corresponding Member of the RAS (Research Computing Center Lomonosov Moscow State University, Moscow), M.A. Guzev, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Institute of Applied Mathematics, Far-Eastern Branch, Russian Academy of Sciences, Vladivostok), V.G. Romanov, Corresponding Member of the RAS (Institute of Mathematics, SB RAS, Novosibirsk), 37 Doctors of Science, 48 Candidates of Science. About 60 students, graduate students and young scientists also took an active part in the conference. Conference sections:

1. Non-classical problems of equations of Mathematical Physics.

2. Methods of discrete mathematics and their applications.

3. Mathematical modeling and numerical implementation of computational methods.

4. Mathematical models and numerical methods of continuum mechanics.

The conference presented 19 plenary reports, 8 lectures covering a wide range of issues related to application of mathematical modeling and information technology in current applied problems of the development of the Northern regions, as well as modern problems of Mathematics and Mechanics. By the beginning of the conference, a collection of paper abstracts was published. Four conference sections presented 54 oral presentations and 67 poster presentations.

VII International Conference on Mathematical Modeling, 2014

The VII International Conference on Mathematical Modeling was supported by the NEFU Development Program, the Russian Foundation for Basic Research grant (No. 11-01-06041-g), and the Ministry of Education of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia).

168 participants attended the conference, including leading scientists from Russia, Japan, Bulgaria, Turkey, Great Britain, Germany, Czech Republic, Uzbekistan, France, as well as from Moscow, Chelyabinsk, Ufa, Samara, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, Khanty- Mansiysk, Irkutsk, Ulan-Ude, Krasnoyarsk, Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Mirny, Yakutsk. Among them: G.F. Krymsky, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Institute of Cosmophysical Research and Aeronomy SB RAS, Yakutsk), S.I. Kabanikhin, Corresponding Member of the RAS (Institute of Computational Mathematics and Mathematical Geophysics SB RAS, Novosibirsk), N.N. By the beginning of the conference, a collection of paper abstracts was published. 54 oral presentations and 67 poster presentations were made at four conference sections.

43 students, postgraduate students, young scientists, and 12 schoolchildren also attended the conference. The conference presented 21 plenary reports covering a wide range of issues concerning the application of methods of mathematical modeling and modern computing technologies in solving urgent applied problems of development of northern regions as well as modern problems of mathematics and mechanics.

A collection of the conference paper abstracts was published, registered as electronic publication №03217027 in the Federal State Budgetary Institution Scientific technical center “INFORMREGISTER”. IX International Conference on Mathematical Modeling, 2020

The conference was held in a hybrid format from July 27 to August 1, 2020 and was dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Vladimir Nikolayevich Vragov.

The conference was attended by 147 participants, including leading scientists from Russia, Germany, Bulgaria, the USA, Uzbekistan, as well as from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Khabarovsk, Chelyabinsk, Ulan-Ude, Blagoveshchensk, Belgorod, Khanty- Mansiysk, Vladivostok, Mirny, Elista, Orenburg and Yakutsk.
