ALL-RUSSIAN SCIENTIFIC AND PRACTICAL CONFERENCE WITH INTERNATIONAL PARTICIPATION

"TOPICAL ISSUES OF THERMOPHYSICS, ENERGETICS AND HYDROGASDYNAMICS IN ARCTIC AND SUBARCTIC AREAS"

dedicated to the 100th birthday anniversary of
Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation and YaASSR, Doctor of Tech. Sci., prof.
Nikolai Sergeyevich Ivanov

Yakutsk, 6 - 9 December 2023

Dear colleagues!

We invite you to take part in All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference with International Participation "Topical Issues of Thermal Physics, Power and Gas Dynamics in the Arctic and Subarctic Territories", which will be held on December 6-9, 2023 in Yakutsk.

Historical background. Since 1993, the regional conference "Modern Problems of Thermophysics and Heat Power Engineering in the Far North Conditions" has been regularly held in Yakutsk. The conference is dedicated to the memory of the outstanding scientist and science organizer, veteran of the Great Patriotic War, the founder of the thermophysical direction of science in Yakutia, Honored Scientist of the RSFSR and YASSR, Doctor of Engineering, Professor Nikolai Sergeyevich Ivanov. The Conference has its own scientific traditions and is a platform for communication and exchange of experience of leading scientists and specialists, as well as for professional development of young scientists, postgraduate students and students. In 2019, the status and topics of the conference were expanded to the XIV All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference with international participation. The conference was held under the title "Thermophysics and Energy of Arctic and Subarctic Territories" at the Permafrost Research Institute named after P.I. Melnikov. P.I. Melnikov Institute of Permafrost Science SB RAS, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Dr. Rev Ivanovich Gavriliev, a pupil and associate of N.S. Ivanov.

XV All-Russian Conference with international participation was held in 2021 at the Institute of Physical and Technical Problems of the North after V.P. Larionov of SB RAS and the Institute of Oil and Gas Problems of SB RAS under the title "Actual issues of thermophysics, power and hydro-gas dynamics in the Arctic and Subarctic territories" (TEGUA-2021), dedicated to 85th anniversary of the Honored Scientist of Russia and YASSR, Ph, Professor Eduard Antonovich Bondarev, colleague and associate of N.S. Ivanov.

On 7 December 2023 N. S. Ivanov would have turned 100. In connection with this it was decided to hold XVI All-Russian conference with international participation "Topical questions of thermophysics, power and hydrodynamics in the Arctic and Subarctic areas" (TEGUA-2023) on the 100th anniversary of Professor Nikolay S. Ivanov on the basis of North-Eastern Ammosov Federal University.

In 1950 N.S.Ivanov graduated with honours from the physics and mathematics faculty of the Yakutsk pedagogical institute and remained a lecturer at the physics department of YaPI. In 1951 he was transferred to the Yakutsk research station of the Obruchev Institute of Permafrost Science as a researcher. In 1956, he was awarded the Prize of the USSR Academy of Sciences.

In 1956 he was awarded the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences. In 1966 Ivanov N.S. defended his doctoral thesis "Heat and mass transfer in frozen rocks".

In 1969 he was appointed director-organizer and then director of the Institute of Physical and Technical Problems of the North based on 3 subdivisions: Departments of power engineering, cold resistance of Yakutsk branch of SB AS USSR, and Laboratory of Heat and Mass Exchange of the Institute of Permafrost Science. In 1971 N.S. Ivanov was awarded the title of professor.

From April, 1973 till 1989 N.S. Ivanov worked as the pro-rector on scientific work of the Yakutsk state university and put much efforts in the organisation of a university science. In 1980, he established the Department of Thermophysics at YSU Faculty of Physics, headed the self-contracted laboratory "Problems of Thermal Protection". The result of the scientific school - more than 10 Doctors of Sciences in thermophysics, 20 candidates of sciences working in the university and academic institutions of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
