History of the International Conference on Mathematical Modeling in Yakutsk

The International Conference on Mathematical Modeling (ICMM) in North-Eastern Federal University (until 2010 – Yakutsk State University) has a long history. The Conference is dedicated to one of the actively developed areas of mathematics - mathematical modeling, discussion of modern problems of mathematical physics, the state and development of mathematical modeling in ecology and economics, in particular, in the development of the Northern territories of the Russian Federation.


 •1st ICMM, September 15-19, 1994

The first ICMM was dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Higher Education in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). 78 reports were heard and discussed, including 10 plenary, on topical issues of mathematical modeling. Plenary sessions were chaired by Corresponding Members of the Russian Academy of Sciences Konovalov A.N. and Monakhov V.N., professor Vragov V.N. (Novosibirsk). In the conference participate Professor of the University of Tokyo M. Yamamoto (Japan), Professor of the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Alaska Fairbanks J. Lambert (USA), Professor of the University of Texas R. E. Shoulter (USA), as well as scientists from Moscow, Novosibirsk, Khabarovsk, Angarsk, Chita, Kazan. In addition, a number of reports were made by students of the Mathematical Faculty of YSU. A collection of conference abstracts was published.

 

•2nd ICMM, June 28-July 2, 1997

The second ICMM was dedicated to the Year of Education in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and the 365th anniversary of Yakutsk. Leading scientists from Moscow, Novosibirsk, Minsk, Khabarovsk, Yakutsk participate in the conference. Among them: Academician of RAS, 2 corresponding members of RAS, 25 doctors of sciences. The conference was attended by deputy Chairman of the Program Committee, corresponding member RAS Konovalov A.N. (Novosibirsk), corresponding member RAS Monakhov V.N. (Novosibirsk), Doctors of Physics and Mathematics Kozhanov A.I. (Novosibirsk), Matus P.P. (Minsk), Vabishchevich P.N. (Moscow), Zarubin A.G. (Khabarovsk), Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Krymsky G.F. (Yakutsk) and others. 84 reports were heard and discussed, including 10 plenary. A collection of conference abstracts was published.

 

•3rd ICMM, July 1-6, 2001

The third international conference on mathematical modeling was held from July 1 to July 6, 2001 in Yakutsk. The conference was attended by leading scientists from Dushanbe, Yekaterinburg, Moscow, Novosibirsk, Chelyabinsk, Khabarovsk, Mirny and Yakutsk. Among them: Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 29 doctors of physical, mathematical and technical sciences. Young employees and graduate students of universities and research institutes of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) took an active part in the conference. The conference program consisted of the following sections:

1. Conditionally well-posed problems and non-classical equations of mathematical physics.

2. Mathematical modeling of the problems of the development of the northern territories.

3. Mathematical modeling in economics and ecology.

During the conference, 12 plenary and 55 section reports were presented. A collection of conference abstracts was published.

 

• 4th ICMM, July 27-31, 2004

The conference was organized on the basis of the Physics and Mathematics Forum "Lensky Kray" p. Chapayevo, Khangalassky District (is located in a picturesque area 55 km from the city of Yakutsk).

The conference program consisted of the following sections:

1. Conditionally well-posed problems and non-classical equations of mathematical physics.

2. Mathematical modeling of the problems of the development of the northern territories.

3. Mathematical modeling in economics and ecology.

4. Methods of discrete mathematics and their applications.

The conference was opened by Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Chairman of the Program Committee V.N. Monakhov. (IG SB RAS, Novosibirsk). The plenary sessions were also chaired by Corresponding Member RAS Taimanov I.A. (IM SB RAS, Novosibirsk), corresponding member RAS Romanov V.G. (IM SB RAS, Novosibirsk). The work of plenary sessions was chaired by Academician of the RAS V.N. Monakhov (Novosibirsk), corresponding member RAS Taimanov I.A. (Novosibirsk), corresponding member RAS Romanov V.G. (Novosibirsk), Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Pyatkov S.G. (Khanty-Mansiysk), Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Voevodin A.F. (Novosibirsk), Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Kozhanov A.I. (Novosibirsk), Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Khludnev A.M. (Novosibirsk). 12 plenary and 73 section reports were presented.

• 5th ICMM, July 24-28, 2007

The conference was supported by a grant from the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (No. 07-01-06039).

The Fifth ICMM was dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the birth of Academician of RAS V.N.Monakhov.

The conference was attended by leading scientists from Vladivostok, Mirny, Khanty-Mansiysk, Novosibirsk, Moscow, Khabarovsk, Tomsk, Kemerovo, Yakutsk. Among them: Academician of RAS, 3 corresponding members of RAS, 17 doctors of physical-mathematical and technical sciences. Young employees and graduate students of universities and research institutes of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) took the most active part in the conference.

The conference program consisted of the following sections:

1. Conditionally well-posed problems and non-classical equations of mathematical physics.

2. Methods of discrete mathematics and their applications.

3. Mathematical modeling in economics and ecology.

4. Mathematical modeling of the problems of the development of the northern territories.

Plenary sessions were chaired by Corresponding Member RAS Smagin S.I. (Computing Center FEB RAS, Khabarovsk), Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Alekseev G.V. (IPM FEB RAS, Vladivostok). (Novosibirsk), Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Kozhanov A.I. (Novosibirsk), Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Pyatkov S.G. (Khanty-Mansiysk), Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Khludnev A.M. (Novosibirsk), Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Yakovenko P.G. (Tomsk). During the conference, 11 plenary and 58 section reports on topical issues of mathematical modeling were presented.  • 6th ICMM, July 3-8, 2011

The conference was organized with the financial support of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (project code 11-01-06041-g) and the Ministry of Science and Professional Education of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The conference was attended by 183 participants, including leading scientists from Great Britain, China, Japan, the USA, as well as from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, Khanty-Mansiysk, Krasnoyarsk, Yakutsk. Among the speakers: Academician of the RAS G.F. Krymsky (IKFIA SB RAS, Yakutsk), Corresponding Member of the RAS V.V. Voevodin (NIIVTs MSU, Moscow), Corresponding Member of the RAS M.A. Guzev (IPM FEB RAS, Vladivostok), corresponding member of RAS V.G. Romanov (IM SB RAS, Novosibirsk), 37 doctors of sciences, 48 candidates of sciences. About 60 students, graduate students and young scientists also participate in the conference.

The conference program consisted of the following sections:

1. Non-classical problems of equations of mathematical physics.

2. Methods of discrete mathematics and their applications.

3. Mathematical modeling and numerical implementation of computational methods.

4. Mathematical models and numerical methods of continuum mechanics.

During the conference, 19 plenary reports, 8 lectures were presented, in which a wide range of issues related to the use of methods of mathematical modeling and information technologies in solving urgent applied problems of the development of the Northern regions, as well as modern problems of mathematics and mechanics, were heard. In four sections of the conference, 54 oral reports and 67 poster reports were presented. A collection of abstracts has been published by the beginning of the conference.

 

7th ICMM, June 30-July 4, 2014

The conference was organized with the financial support of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research, NEFU Development Program.

The conference was attended by 168 people, including leading scientists from Russia, Japan, Bulgaria, Turkey, Great Britain, Germany, Czech Republic, Uzbekistan, France, as well as from Moscow, Chelyabinsk, Ufa, Samara, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, Khanty- Mansiysk, Irkutsk, Ulan-Ude, Krasnoyarsk, Vladivosto-ka, Khabarovsk, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Mirny, Yakutsk. Among them: Academician G.F. Krymsky (IKFIA SB RAS, Yakutsk), corresponding member of RAS S.I. Kabanikhin (ICM & MG SB RAS, Novosibirsk), Corresponding Member of RAS N.N. Subbotina (IMM UB RAS, Yekaterinburg), 31 doctors of sciences, 60 candidates of sciences. The conference was also actively attended by 58 students, graduate students, young scientists and 17 schoolchildren.

The conference program consisted of the following sections:

1. Non-classical problems of equations of mathematical physics.

2. Methods of discrete mathematics and their applications.

3. Mathematical modeling and numerical implementation of computational methods.

4. Mathematical models and numerical methods of continuum mechanics.

During the conference, 17 plenary reports, 6 assembly lectures were heard, which covered a wide range of issues related to the use of mathematical modeling methods and modern computing technologies in solving urgent applied problems of the development of the Northern regions, as well as modern problems of mathematics and mechanics. A collection of abstracts has been published by the beginning of the conference. In four sections of the conference, 54 oral reports and 67 poster reports were presented.

8th ICMM, June 30-July 4, 2017

The organization and holding of the conference was supported by the NEFU Development Program, a grant from the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (No. 17-01-20277-g) and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

The members of the Program Committee were leading Russian scientists and foreign scientists. The conference was attended by 143 people, including leading scientists from Russia, USA, Japan, Bulgaria, Italy, Great Britain, Portugal, Belgium, Finland, Kazakhstan, as well as from Moscow, Kaliningrad, Chelyabinsk, Yekaterinburg, Ufa, Kazan, Voronezh, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, Khanty-Mansiysk, Kemerovo, Ulan-Ude, Krasnoyarsk, Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Mirny, Yakutsk. Among them: Academician G.F. Krymsky (IKFIA SB RAS, Yakutsk), Corresponding Member of RAS N.N. Subbotin (IMM UB RAS, Yekaterinburg), 47 doctors of sciences, 48 candidates of sciences. The conference was also actively attended by 43 students, graduate students, young scientists and 12 schoolchildren.

The conference program consisted of the following sections:

1. Non-classical problems of equations of mathematical physics, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Professor I.М. Petrushko.

2. Computational methods of mathematical modeling.

3. Mathematical models and numerical methods of continuum mechanics.

4. Optimal control and conflict-controlled processes.

5. Methods of discrete mathematics and their applications.

6. Clifford, quaternionic and harmonic analyzes and their applications.

7. School section of the conference.

During the conference, 21 plenary reports were heard, which covered a wide range of issues related to the use of methods of mathematical modeling and modern computing technologies in solving current applied development problems of the Northern regions, as well as modern problems of mathematics and mechanics.

At seven sections of the conference, 114 oral and 18 poster reports were presented, including 12 reports of schoolchildren.
