Rector of NEFU told about plans of the federal university

The Rector of North-Eastern Federal University named after M.K. Ammosov Evgeniya Mikhailova said about the results of the admission campaign in 2011, the creation of Small Innovation Enterprises and Science Foundation.

The first stage of creation of a versatile scientific and educational complex is being completed by the present moment.

It was created on the basis of seven educational and research institutions. In contrast to other federal institutions, universities and research centers were joined to NEFU. Rector noted that scientific institutions have maintained their independence, for example, selecting research themes. This decision was made by a majority vote at a meeting of the Academic Council.

Summing up the results of the admission campaign, Evgeniya Mikhailova said that students from 28 Russian regions and six foreign countries, including South Korea, entered the university in this academic year.

NEFU creates 12 small innovative companies for developments of new technologies and inventions of scientists could give good results.

The work is conducted on the creation of the University Scientific Foundation, the so-called endowment and loan fund for students in NEFU. The loans could be used for traveling abroad, learning a new language. In the 2010-2011 academic years, 20 university employees received 500 thousands rubles for participation in the pilot housing project.

Talking about the problems of the university, the Rector noted the high price of the Internet, which costs about 8-9 million rubles a year for payment.
