NEFU will take part in the educational program "MIT REAP"

On April 13, Interim Rector of North-Eastern Federal University Evgenia Mikhailova met with participants of the program of Massachusetts Institute of Technology from Yakutia, the team "MIT REAP Yakutia". The result of the meeting was the offer to participate in the educational program of one of the leading universities in the world.

The essence of the program is to provide an opportunity for young scientists and teachers from around the world to undergo an internship at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 3-4 months. "The main goal is to adopt the methods of training technology entrepreneurship in MIT. In addition, the program participant will be able to attend the lectures of the institute's teachers and conduct their own research", said Afanasy Savvin, the former Vice Rector for Innovative Development of NEFU.

This year there is the fifth launch of this program. During its existence, representatives from 35 countries of the world attended the training. "Participation in the selection competition can be taken not only by countries, but also by regions of different countries. And in order to enter this program, we wrote an essay proving the right of Yakutia to participate in this training", said Tatiana Bravina, a team member. The team from Yakutia was included in the selected regions for participation, and the flag of our republic is represented on the map "MIT REAP". Now the representatives of Yakutia should draw up a program that would include all mechanisms and directions for the development of an innovative ecosystem in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

The outcome of the meeting was the decision to send an application of Anisia Lazareva, Director of the student business incubator "Oreh", to MIT for consideration of the candidacy.
