NEFU improved its positions in the international ranking RUR

North-Eastern Federal University again entered the "world league" of the universities of the International Round University Ranking (RUR). Compared to last year's result, NEFU improved its position by 13 points and took 531 place in the world and 15th place among Russian universities, and also the first among eight federal universities included in the ranking.

The university improved its positions in the ranking due to improvement by eight points in the direction of "Quality of Research". NEFU strengthened its positions and entered the number of the best universities in the RUR, according to NEFU Department of Strategic Development.

A total of 783 universities from 74 countries are represented in the ranking, among them 70 Russian universities.

The best result among Russian universities was shown by M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, which took 153rd place. It is followed by Moscow Engineering Physics Institute - 224, Tomsk State University - 240 and Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology - 256. Novosibirsk and St. Petersburg State Universities took 329 and 385 positions. Also, Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, the Russian State University of Oil and Gas named after I.M. Gubkin, Tomsk Polytechnic University and ITMO University entered the TOP-500.

The first ranking positions were taken by Harvard, Chicago Universities and California Institute of Technology, followed by the Imperial College of London and Stanford University.

The ranking agency RUR is a Russian ranking agency, established in 2010. The agency publishes the Round University Ranking system, and also provides consulting services in the field of university assessment. The data provider for the RUR system is the international company Clarivate Analytics. The RUR is based on data on 20 individual indicators, united into four groups: education, research, international cooperation and financial sustainability.
