NEFU scientists took part in the I Russian Professorial Forum.

The first Professorial Forum was held in Moscow on February 1. Our region was presented by NEFU professors delegation as part of the academic community.

Darima Garmaeva, the professor of NEFU Medical Institute, the chairman of Yakutsk regional branch of the Russian Professorial Council, in her speech at the forum talked about the initiatives of the council's branch. She said that the higher education rules and regulations for implementing Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) state policy is currently being developed. One of the key features will be the institutional nature of the planned changes: development of the educational infrastructure, creating methods for forecasting demand for trained personnel; introduction of development mechanisms and professional public examination of educational programs, emphasis on fundamental training programs.

 "Now the efforts of the academic community are being consolidated. The project proposals to strengthen Russia's geo-economic and geopolitical positions are being developed in order to improve the Far East cultural and educational infrastructure, and to preserve and increase human capital in the Far East," Darima Garmaeva said in her speech.

In the Forum more than a thousand delegates from 73 subjects of the Russian Federation and 11 foreign countries took part. About 50 participants made reports during the whole day of the Professorial Forum. "Issues of the professors' role in the modern universities, approaches to assessing the quality of education, national rankings and actual problems of teaching students in the conditions of technological growth were discussed," Anna Mikhailova, the participant of the delegation, head of the Department of Sociology, NEFU Institute of Finances and Economics commented.

The North-Eastern Federal University was also presented by Ekaterina Arkhangelskaya,  the head of the department of expertise, management and real estate cadastre, and Lena Arzhakova, the senior lecturer of the Medical Institute. The chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Alexander Kim-Kimen also took part in the meeting.

The organizer of the 1st Professorial Forum was Russian Professorsial Council. The forum was held on the site of RUDN university. The main goal is to organize communication on the basis of professors, heads of leading universities, research teams and leading representatives of scientific and pedagogical communities.
