NEFU entered the top 500 best universities worldwide according to the Global World Communicator

According to the Department of Strategic Development, North-Eastern Federal University entered the top 500 best universities worldwide in "Worldwide Professional University Rankings RankPro", the annual ranking of the best universities in the world.
RankPro ranking evaluates more than thousands of the best universities in the world according to criteria such as academic opportunities (Academic Ranking), informative internet resources (BC-Index ranking), and the reputation of the university among the experts (Public Rating). North-Eastern Federal University ranked 491 place among worldwide universities.
"NEFU ranked first among the national universities such as Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, Siberian Federal University, ITMO University and others. Our university entered the top 200 leading European universities on criteria of informative internet resources and took the 176 place", said Vasily Savvinov, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development. NEFU also entered the top 100 Asian universities on this criterion, where took 88th place, leaving behind Japanese Universities of Tohoku, Osaka and Beijing University".
If in 2015 there were 26 Russian universities among the 500 best universities in the world, in 2016 their number was reduced to 20. There were no Russian university at the top 100.
The top 5 national universities included M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University - 111 position, Tomsk Polytechnic University - 146, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology - 147, Novosibirsk State University - 224, and the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute - 262.
Leaders in the RankPro Ranking among the countries were USA - 122 universities, United Kingdom - 55, Germany - 36.
