Students competitions in Go games to be held at NEFU

Kim Chonhel, holder of seventh dan rank in professional Go game (Baduk), a university student of Myongji University (Seoul, Republic of Korea) came at NEFU. Kim Chonhel will coach NEFU team in Go game at the federal university.

According to the plan of the Institute of Physical Culture and Sports, two major student Go Championship will be organized until the end of the year. Competitions among the freshmen will be held in November and among senior students in December. There will be also online team competitions between NEFU team and the team of one of the Go clubs from Seoul. Chief Judge of the competition will be Kim Chonhel.

"Kim Chonhel arrived at North-Eastern Federal University by academic mobility program working within the frameworks of signed agreement between the federal university and Myongji University. Our guest is engaged in Go game since he was six years old and has a qualifying level - seventh dan - this corresponds to the Russian grandmaster norm, pointed Vladimir Barakhsanov, Associate Professor of Physical Education Department of NEFU Institute of Physical Culture and Sports, mind sports coach. - During his visit to Yakutia, Kim Chonhel participated in the meetings with the students of NEFU Teacher Training Institute and Tehtyursky Secondary School of Khangalassky region. In future, he will participate in the promotion of Go game among students and pupils of Yakutsk city".
