NEFU entered the World University Rankings RankPro

North-Eastern Federal University entered the top 500 in the world in Earth Sciences and Mathematics in the international ranking of universities World University Rankings Rank Pro Subject Ranking-2021. In the overall ranking, NEFU took the 316th place among the best universities worldwide.

Tatiana Volkova, Director of NEFU Department of Strategic Development, said that this year the university was one of 6 Russian universities, which were included in the ranking in ​​"Earth Sciences" of the sub-ranking "Nature Sciences". She also added that NEFU entered the ranking in the subject area "Mathematics" among 17 Russian universities.

In the overall ranking, NEFU entered the top 500 best higher educational institutions and took the 316th place in the world. NEFU took the 11th position among Russian universities and 165th among the best universities in Europe, 73rd among the best universities in the Asia-Pacific region. “To be in the top 500 best universities in the world, in the top 400 best universities in Europe, the top 300 best universities in the Asia-Pacific region and the top-41 best universities in Russia is an excellent result obtained during the independent evaluation of the international scientific community. It confirms the effectiveness of the work of the entire NEFU team,” said Tatiana Volkova.

The Worldwide Professional University Rankings RankPro is published annually by the International Council of Scientists under the Global World Communicator program and focuses mainly on the quality of education. According to the director of NEFU Department of Strategic Development, the ranking takes into account the criteria that cover almost all activities of the university: the number and composition of students and academic staff of the university, general information about the university, academic information, communication possibilities, the university reputation in worldwide and national rankings, including the results of an expert survey among members of the International Council of Scientists.

Tatiana Volkova added that the ranking is based on the results of a multi-criteria assessment of 2,383 universities in the world, of which the ranking includes only the top thousand universities. The assessment is carried out according to such criteria as academic opportunities (Academic Ranking), information content of the site (BC-Index ranking), the university reputation among experts (Public Rating).
