On April 2, the opening of the annual biotechnology and medical projects competition BIOHACKATON was held at the House of Scientific Collaboration of M.K. Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University, according to the Official Information Portal of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

Petr Gabyshev, head of the Technopark Yakutia, congratulated the participants at the opening. He wished the participants good luck, fruitful and creative work, and told about the main global trends in the field of biotechnologies. Also Petr Petrovich informed about the current work and development prospects. "Biotechnology is one of the most important activities of the IT industry development institutions in Yakutia. We will continue to work in this direction, especially since 2021 has been declared the Year of Health in the republic. In particular, we will focus on the Biotechnology Research and Development Center. Favorable conditions for the development of biotechnology companies will be created. The center's infrastructure will allow to conduct research and develop new products in such areas as regenerative medicine and cellular technologies, bioinformatics, agricultural biotechnology, as well as in other areas included in the National Technological Initiative," said Petr Gabyshev.
