North-Eastern Federal University has strengthened its position in the ranking of Russian universities implementing Public Administration Programs. The university entered the top 50 for the first time and took the 41st place.

The annual ranking research was carried out within the framework of the National University Ranking project. Unlike previous years, master's degree programs were taken into account. According to Aleksey Gorshkov, Executive Director of Interfax Group, the ranking in Public Administration promotes the development of university brands, raising the status of administrative work, state and municipal service.

“One of the priority tasks of the university is to train a new generation of managers who will implement the values ​​and goals of sustainable development of the northern territories. NEFU is responsive to the growing needs in young professionals of the Russian Far East and North. A system of executive candidate pool is being created, project management practices are being actively introduced, taking into account the internationalization of higher education,” said Tatiana Volkova, Director of NEFU Department of Strategic Development. She noted that the university, entering the top 50 in the ranking, shows a high-quality educational platform for training managers who are competitive in the context of large-scale social and economic projects.

The indicators of the last three years were taken into account in assessing universities. Universities were assessed on the basis of five criteria: the number of educational programs, publications of authors in journals indexed by Scopus and the HAC list, the average citation of articles published in HAC journals, and the number of graduates with honors in 2020.
