NSDF: China is interested in the development of Yakutia’s Arctic Zone

At the opening of the Northern Forum, Consul General of China in Khabarovsk Tsui Guojie said that the People's Republic of China is actively involved in Arctic issues. In addition, the country intends to develop, protect and contribute to the development of the Arctic.

According to Tsui Guojie, China is interested in Arctic relations issues. “China always abides by the UN Charter and Convention on the Law of the Sea. We will achieve sustainable development by adhering to the basic principles of respectful cooperation. We hope to draw attention to scientific research, to emphasize the importance of environmental protection by participating in the forum,” he added.

The consul noted that the future of the Arctic affects the interests and well-being of people living in the Arctic zone. “China, with all interested parties, is pleased to participate in a historic event, to contribute to an important cause, attracting Chinese minds and strength for the sustainable development of the Arctic,” he concluded.

The Consul General of China in Khabarovsk Tsui Guojie on behalf of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the Northern Forum for the invitation and warm welcome.
