NEFU has signed an agreement on scientific and academic partnership with Hohai University
North-Eastern Federal University has established partnership with Hohai University - China's leading university in the field of hydrology and water research. The official signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement was held on July 5 at Hohai University in Nanjing.
NEFU rector Anatoly Nikolaev noted that the cooperation will include teaching and student exchanges, as well as joint research. “The official visit of NEFU delegation to Hohai University was made as part of a federal university membership in the Association of Sino-Russian Technical Universities and is one of the results that ASRTU Forum for Arctic Studies was held in Yakutsk in September 2018,” the head of the university explained.
Within the frameworks of this work, the Chinese side will assist Yakut researchers in developing effective methods for monitoring floods during the spring flood on the Lena River and its feeders, as well as in eliminating the consequences, Anatoly Nikolayev added.
He noted that the return visit of the joint delegation of Hohai and Heilongjiang universities was planned. “In the second half of July, a Russian-Chinese symposium on water resources of cold regions and their rational use will be held on the basis of NEFU,” the rector of the federal university added.
