North-Eastern Federal University hosted the I International Youth Festival “The Great, Mighty Russian Language ...!” The organizers were teachers and students of the Department of Advertising and Public Relations of NEFU Faculty of Philology.

According to the organizers, the event was held in cooperation with the staff of Yakutsk City Classical Gymnasium. “During April, a set of activities aimed at promoting good oral and written Russian was held, and a creative competition was organized as part of the festival. The geography of the festival participants was wide enough - students and schoolchildren from Yakutsk, Mirny, Verkhnevilyuisk, Namtsy, Olekminsk, Amur Region, Yekaterinburg, China, Canada, Germany, Vietnam, South Korea,” said Natalia Chinnova.

The festival included a competition in three nominations - the best video “Good grammar is the key to success!”, the best presentation “Secrets of the Russian language”, the best essay on the topic “My favorite Russian word”. A total of around 70 applications were received. “The competition is held for the first time. The idea was implemented by my student Sibikte Petrova - this is her thesis. I hope this festival will become our tradition,” said the head.

A student of NEFU Faculty of Philology, Sibikte Petrova, told about her project: “The idea of ​​the festival came along with the popularization of the values ​​and practice of good and creative use of the Russian language in all areas of communication. The festival has shown that we have successfully coped with this task, we will host it annually. In the future, I would like to expand the geographical coverage."
