The VI International Mathematics Olympiad for the prizes of the rector of North-Eastern Federal University was held in Troyes (France). The participants were 80 students of the third and fourth grades of San Dominique Savier College.

This was reported by Elena Mikhailova, the representative of NEFU in France. She noted that the federal university and the French college of San Dominique Savier have been implementing common educational projects for six years. “This year the organizing committee decided to place all participants in the same hall, where tables were set for it, and not to hold the Olympiad in four classrooms, as was done in previous years. Only a few students with disabilities solved the Olympiad tasks in a separate classroom with the help of a teacher”, she said.

According to Elena Mikhailova, last year the results of children with special educational needs of students at a French college were considered in a separate list. “Contrary to expectations, our special participants showed good results, no different from ordinary students. It was decided to award the best three among them”, the representative said.

NEFU representative acquainted students of San Dominique Savier College with the work of the Yakut university, and the students watched an introductory film about a federal university in French. “Conducting such Olympiads serves the development of friendly relations between countries and educational institutions”, summarized Elena Mikhailova.
