YAKUTSK, February 5. / TASS /. North-Eastern Federal University (NEFU) will hold a Russian-Japanese winter school in Yakutsk from February 24 to March 2, 2019 on topical issues of studying the ecology of the Arctic. The students of the school will be Russian and Japanese students, according to NEFU International Relations Office. “Winter School “Environment and Innovations of the North” will be held in Yakutsk on the basis of NEFU. It is organized jointly by Japanese and Russian partners - the University of Hokkaido, the Japan Arctic Research Center (J-ARC Net), and the Institute of Biological Problems of the Cryolithozone of the SB RAS”, the management said.

A testing ground for testing the quality of automobile tires in low temperatures was opened in Yakutia. The project was implemented under the auspices of North-Eastern Federal University (NEFU). A testing ground opened in the suburb of Yakutsk. The opening ceremony was accompanied by testing of tire covers by Bridgestone Corporation. Representatives of the Japanese Chiaki Oyamo praised the quality of the snow and ice tracks and the level of engineering infrastructure, reports  IA RZD-PARTNER.RU.
