A student from Spain received a grant for an internship at NEFU
North-Eastern Federal University organized the "Welcome to Yakutia" Olympiad for foreign students at the University of Cadiz (Spain). The winner of the Olympiad was the student of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Cadiz Jose Antonio Simansas Suarez, who scored 37 points out of 40 possible.
A joint grant from NEFU and the University of Cadiz affords the winner to take an internship at Maksim Ammosov Federal University in the first half of the 2018-2019 academic year. "In total, more than ten people from 18 to 60 years old who have studied Russian in the evening courses took part in the Olympiad. There is no special branch of the Russian language at the University of Cadiz, there is a Russian-Spanish University Center operating in Cadiz for 10 years, and the Center for the Study of the Russian Language and Culture "Pushkin Institute", said Lina Antonova, teacher at the Department of Russian as a Foreign, NEFU Faculty of Philology.
Also, the International Forum "Russian Language in the Paradigm of Modern Education: Russia and the Ibero-American World" was held on the basis of the University of Cadiz. Within the framework of the meeting, presentations of educational programs, the most significant achievements and innovative developments, internship programs and advanced training courses for Russian universities were held.
"The forum is organized to popularize the Russian language, Russian education and science in Spain, Latin America and Caribbean countries, also with the goal of establishing international contacts and partnership between Russian universities and educational institutions in the region," added the lecturer at the federal university.
The organizer of the international forum is the Southern Federal University. The event is supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation within the framework of the federal target program "Russian Language" for 2016-2020, with the assistance of the University of Cadiz.
