Since September 2018, “Samsung IoT Academy” educational project will be available to ten higher educational institutions in Russia, including North-Eastern Federal University. Students of technical specialties will be able to undergo full-time free training in the field of industrial Internet of things.
The coverage of specialties and areas of study was taken into account in choosing partner universities, where the subject of the Internet of things, the potential number of students involved, as well as the qualifications of the teaching staff will be in demand.
It is known that the educational program is based on the study of real industrial tasks to introduce Internet technologies of things. According to representatives of Samsung Electronics, the main objective of the project is to train professionals able to develop all areas of activity from transport to health and together with the company to move into the digital future.
Within the frameworks of the educational project, each partner university is provided with equipment for the organization of educational and scientific IoT-laboratories. NEFU teachers and students will be provided with rapid prototyping kits, Samsung ARTIK microcomputers, which are used to solve IoT tasks, and other high-tech devices.
Additionally, the pilot laboratories of the Internet of things and classes on the program were launched at Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology and Moscow Technological University in 2017.
The project "Samsung IoT Academy" expands the company's activity in the field of technical education, which since 2014 is represented by the federal program on the basics of IT and programming for schoolchildren - "SAMSUNG IT SCHOOL".
