Consulate General of India in Vladivostok considers cooperation with NEFU

North-Eastern Federal University was visited by a delegation of the Consulate General of India in Vladivostok led by Consul General Mr. Seviti Sai Murali. The parties discussed options for cooperation in the field of bio- and IT-technologies, science, culture and supported the proposal of NEFU to create the Russian-Asian Consortium for Arctic Research.

Yuri Danilov, Deputy Rector for Sustainable Development of the Arctic Territories, acquainted the representatives of the Indian delegation with the research and international relations of NEFU. “In particular, I told about our paleogenetic research - about the intentions to clone a mammoth. Consul General Mr. Seviti Sai Murali was impressed by the cooperation of NEFU with the People's Republic of China, Japan and Korea. He said that India has a well-developed medicine, so there are many people who want to come to Yakutia and study here. NEFU has all the conditions for this, in particular, there is a program taught in English. He is also interested in the joint development of IT technologies,” said Yury Danilov.

During the meeting, the parties considered the creation of the Russian-Asian Consortium for Arctic Research. Recall that this project for the development of NEFU became one of the 18 winners of the competition within the framework of the Strategic Academic Leadership Program "Priority 2030". Consul General Mr. Seviti Sai Murali positively assessed the initiative of NEFU and expressed his readiness to assist in joining the consortium of Indian universities and research centers.

It should be noted that the visit of the Consul General of India in Vladivostok Mr. Sai Murali to North-Eastern Federal University took place as part of the celebrations dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Yakut ASSR and the 390th anniversary since Yakutia has become part of Russia.
