In the Year of the Young Researcher, North-Eastern Federal University is aiming for a breakthrough in science. Rector Anatoly Nikolaev announced this at a festive event dedicated to the Day of Russian Students.

The new academic year at NEFU will be held under the motto “Learn and develop”. “By proclaiming 2021 as the Year of the Young Researcher, we, first of all, set the tone for the future, because science has a special place at our university. I am sure that this year will discover new names for us, develop the talent and potential of young scientists,” said Anatoly Nikolaev.

NEFU Rector noted that earlier, President Vladimir Putin had declared 2021 the Year of Science and Technology. “It is necessary to support the desire of young scientists to engage in science, as this is an excellent opportunity to share their breakthrough ideas with the scientific community, to achieve significant results. In the future, these projects and research can make a significant contribution to the development of national science,” said Anatoly Nikolaev.

In addition, the rector of the university summed up the results of 2020, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. “The Year of the Great Victory will be remembered for the anniversary events in honor of the heroes and as the year of unity of staff and students. We presented the book "For the Future" with essays on the difficult post-war years, stayed in touch with honored veterans and professors, took care of them during the period of self-isolation. Despite all the difficulties, we have achieved all the tasks set and we are entering the Year of the Young Researcher with honor and dignity,” Anatoly Nikolaev summed up.
