Dear students, teachers, staff of North-Eastern Federal University! Please accept my sincere congratulations on the upcoming New Year 2021!

The outgoing year was not easy. It has thrown us new challenges, set goals and tasks that required immediate solutions. The year 2020 at the university was named the “Year of the Great Victory” with the motto “Learn to Win”. This year, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, will be remembered at the university not only for anniversary events, but also as a year of unity - together we learned to win and won. 2020 has proven our solidarity, resilience and wisdom in solving all problems.

We have met many challenges caused by the coronavirus pandemic: full transition to distance learning in one day, organization of the educational process without losing the quality of education, the first examination session and admission campaign online - the university has withstood all this thanks to its staff and students. The staff of the university worked closely together and conscientiously, making great efforts and showing their professionalism every day.

Our students have also proved their faith and dedication to the university, who from the first days of the pandemic, as volunteers, rushed to help the city people, the population of the republic, and the older generation. Regardless of all the danger, they delivered medicines, necessary food to those who were on self-isolation. Medical volunteers and residents of NEFU Medical Institute have shown in practice that the Hippocratic Oath is the truth they follow. I am glad that such generation of students is studying at North-Eastern Federal University that will never leave a person in trouble, will always come to the rescue.

We are closing the year with considerable victories and achievements. Our work is highly appreciated in the world and national rankings. During the year, university scientists have won grants for the implementation of breakthrough projects aimed at developing national science, preserving its best traditions and achievements. We are proud of our students who have achieved victories at the All-Russian and International Olympiads, who have won medals of the National Championships in professional skills "Young Professionals" and "Abilympics", who have become the triumphants of the Russian Mas-Wrestling Championship, who have passed to the finals of Samsung IT Academy competition, who have won the scholarships of the President and RF Government. This is just a small list of their achievements. The main success of NEFU students is the resilience and patience shown in this difficult 2020.

We are entering the new year with new strengths and challenges. NEFU mission will be aimed at bringing up a new generation of professionals implementing the goals and values ​​of sustainable development of the North and the Far East. I am confident that our three mottos - responsibility, will and diligence - will lead us to success.

Dear friends! I am grateful to the entire team for their dedicated work on the achievements of our university. May 2021 be just as rich in creative ideas, professional ups, success and recognition! May the New Year bring happiness to every home, become a year of peace, harmony and good changes for all of us!
