Jera AI development of NEFU OREH business incubator resident is presented on the global stage

A resident of OREH business incubator of North-Eastern Federal University was awarded in the national stage of the international competition Arctic Future Challenge. Jera AI project is nominated for “Arctic Youth Startup of the Year” and “Founder of Arctic Youth Startup of the Year”.

An actively promoted product on the market was sent to the competition - an economical portable ultraviolet lamp – high-demand product due to the recent events in the spread of coronavirus infection. “Our project is aimed at developing and creating comfortable and stylish devices for protecting health using UV radiation. This function was developed by us for disinfection of the pill case earlier. We develop, produce and sell the most convenient products for everyday household use," said Ivan Popov, a post-graduate student of NEFU Medical Institute, co-founder of the project Jera AI.

One of the company's other projects is the "Artificial Intelligence Phone Case in the Health and Fitness Market". Young innovators offer a special phone case to remind the user that it's time to take the medication. Thanks to the development, it became possible to put pills in a smartphone case. The specialized case program can hold up to 16 pills. The smart case is connected to the phone via a magnetic connector. In order to take the medicine at the right time, the programmed device will remind you which pill you need to take and in what dosage. All information about taking medications goes to the attending physician, who monitors the schedule and doses of medications.

Ivan Popov said that this project is in active development: the case and its software are being updated. “We are planning to enter the pharmacological market of the USA, Europe and Russia. First of all, we consider the American one, because they have a very developed culture of using pill cases,” said the post-graduate student of the Medical Institute.

First of all, a startup is a business with a deliberately high risk of failure, Ivan Popov emphasized: “To minimize it, young founders should gain experience in a similar field, study the basic foundations of jurisprudence, accounting, marketing and advertising to better understand the overall picture of their project and more productive work with employees.”

Anisiya Lazareva, Director of NEFU OREH student business incubator, noted that the success of Jera AI is a great achievement for the incubator. “Our goal is the international expansion of the residents’ projects. Winning at the national stage of the competition is a proof of the competitiveness of our residents. We hope that such winnings will motivate first-time entrepreneurs to become part of the business incubator,” said Anisiya Lazareva.

The winners of the competition will be announced in October. You can vote for Jera AI project in two nominations here.
