NEFU entered the top 15 in Russian University Ranking

North-Eastern Federal University took the 15th place in RUR Russian University Ranking-2020 and entered the diamond league of universities. In total, 82 leading educational organizations of the country are represented in the ranking.

According to Tatiana Volkova, Director of NEFU Department of Strategic Development, the ranking was designed to evaluate and make decisions on the choice of universities in accordance with the personal tasks of key stakeholders: applicants and students, the academic community, university management, and the state. “The 15th place nationwide allowed NEFU to enter the diamond league of universities in the ranking. It should be noted that the achievement of such a result was the result of many years of work of the entire university staff, consistent implementation of the chosen strategy,” said Tatiana Volkova.

The overall ranking is based on four private rankings: education, science, internationalization and financial sustainability. NEFU showed the best result in a private ranking on educational activities - 11th place nationwide. The university ranked 21st in research, 24th in internationalization and 54th in financial sustainability.

In total, the ranking included eight federal universities, NEFU ranks second among them. The first place - Kazan Federal University, ranked 13th among educational institutions of higher education. The third place - Siberian Federal University, which ranked 20th in the overall ranking of Russian universities.

Round University Ranking (RUR) is an international university ranking published by the RUR Rankings Agency. RUR international university ranking is the first regularly updated global ranking of universities of Russian origin. The ranking evaluates the activities of 1100 leading universities from 82 countries worldwide over the past 11 years (2010-2020) by 20 indicators, grouped in four key areas: the quality of teaching, the quality of research, the level of internationalization and the level of financial sustainability.
