Many universities nationwide - from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok - are experiencing a real boom of interest from African students: there are about 17 thousand students. Medicine and pharmaceuticals, economics and the oil and gas business, construction and electric power are the main specialties that young people from a hot continent study. African students told NTV about their life in Yakutia.

Mathews from Zambia came to study in Yakutsk four years ago. And during this time he learned the main science: in order not to freeze to death in a 40C frost, you need to dress warmer. The African read about the harsh Russian winter at home, but the Yakut cold had exceeded all expectations.
