NEFU students and young scientists to receive grants and scholarships of Rosneft
The joint-stock company “Rosneft” will award nominal grants of 100 thousand rubles for research to young scientists and teachers of North-Eastern Federal University - the best students will be awarded scholarships for academic achievements and active participation in the university life. Submission deadline is the end of November.
According to Tuyara Egorova, head of the laboratory of the Department of Subsoil Use of the Faculty of Geology and Survey, one application for the grant was accepted: “Cooperation between NEFU and Rosneft is of strategic importance. Our graduates can find a job from one of the 500 best employers worldwide – “Rosneft” takes the 207 place in the Forbes magazine. In addition, the interaction between the university and the oil company increases the interest of youth in oil and gas education in our republic.”
According to NEFU Research Department, nominal grants are awarded to young scientists and teachers whose research is related to the study and teaching of disciplines covering the survey, output and transportation of hydrocarbons, oil engineering, development of difficult oil and gas deposits in difficult conditions. Grants are awarded on the results of the academic year. Application deadline is November 26th. A decision on the grant awards will be made before 1 December.
Full-time students of 3-5 years studying in specialized areas participate in the competition for scholarships. Application deadline is November 30th. A decision on grant awards will be made before 15 December.
NEFU and Rosneft cooperate in several areas: in 2016, an agreement was signed on the creation of a partnership system, starting with pre-university training and career guidance for young people. In 2017, the basic department of Oil and Gas Business of “Taas Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha” LLC (a subsidiary of Rosneft PJSC) was established on the basis of NEFU Mirny Polytechnic Institute (branch) among 20 basic departments of the company in Russia.
