Anatomy textbook for foreign students will be published at NEFU

The Department of the Faculty of Philology and Medical Institute of North-Eastern Federal University will publish teaching materials for foreign students. The materials will be devoted to the "Anatomy" course.

“About 100 people from different countries study at the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language annually. In 2018, a large group of young people from Egypt and Africa came to NEFU. Of these, 18 people having studied at the faculty of pre-university education on the Russian language, are planning to enter NEFU Medical Institute. This circumstance made us take a different approach to the training of future medical professionals”, said Svetlana Petrova, head of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language.

She noted that the problem of knowledge of Russian concerns not only teachers of the Faculty of Philology, but also NEFU MI, working with foreign students. “It was decided to publish teaching materials for the “Anatomy” course, the material will be prepared by teachers of the Medical Institute. The teachers of the Department of the Faculty of Philology will create a grammatical and speech basis, which will help foreigners to better understand the teaching material”, explained the professor.

The discussion of the education quality of foreign students was held during a round table organized by the initiative of Darima Garmayeva, Professor of the Department of NEFU MI. “This unique project of cooperation between medical professionals and philologists will contribute to the qualitative education of foreign students and their serious professional training for the future work in the field of health care in their countries”, said Svetlana Petrova.
