NEFU and China University of Petroleum discussed opportunities for cooperation
North-Eastern Federal University and China University of Petroleum in Qingdao are planning to cooperate in the training of engineers in the oil and gas industry. The opportunities of joint work were discussed during the business meeting of the delegation of the Faculty of Geology and Survey of North-Eastern Federal University with the Chinese side.
“Currently, cooperation on exchange educational programs for undergraduate students is being discussed. The master’s program lasts three years, so the exchange program is based on the principle of "2 + 1". This means that a student from Russia or China, having studied for a year in his own country, will study in a partner university for 2 years”, said Maria Nikolayeva, Senior Lecturer of Subsoil Department FGS.
She also added that joint work with a Chinese university would be beneficial for both countries. “Cooperation with China University of Petroleum will allow to train specialists capable of carrying out production and technological activities at a high technical level, to engage in research and project activities in interdisciplinary areas of the oil and gas industry, including in the international team”, said Maria Nikolayeva.
The delegation of FGS Department of Subsoil included - Senior Lecturer of the Faculty Maria Nikolayeva and Associate Professor of the Department Nayli Segizova. The joint meeting was attended by the Head of the Foreign Students Recruitment Department of the Institute of International Education, Ren Gengtian, and the Deputy Directors of the International Office, Zhao Guonglu and Wu Kehua.
China University of Petroleum is a key state multi-disciplinary university under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education of China. The university offers engineering programs in the field of oil and gas industry, chemical engineering, earth sciences, mechanical and electronic engineering, computer science, business management and Chinese.
