Huawei Network Academy to open at NEFU

North-E astern Federal University and the International Company “Huawei” signed an agreement on the opening of the Information and Communication Academy. In 2019, students will study in the direction "Information and communication technologies and communication systems" at the Academy.

The Academy conducts training using the equipment of Huawei. Classes will be held at the Department of Multichannel Telecommunication Systems of the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science at NEFU. The program includes training teachers for conducting authorized courses on the topic “HCNA Routing & Switching”. Huawei will donate the necessary technical and methodological materials.

“The opening of the academy is the result of negotiations over four years. Today, the entire infrastructure of telecom operators is built specifically on Huawei equipment. Students will receive the necessary knowledge and skills in the field of modern information and communication technologies, prepare for the certification exams. Nowadays, international certificates are valued higher than diplomas in large companies. Exams and certificates can be passed and taken at the PearsonVUE Center at NEFU. This will certainly increase the competitiveness of graduates in the global labor market”, said NEFU Vice Rector for Informatization, Petr Ivanov.


Huawei is the world leader in information and communications solutions, research and development in the field of telecommunications standards of the new generation (LTE, 5G).

Huawei Authorized Networking Academy is a program of cooperation in the field of education, which the company offers to universities around the world for advanced theoretical and practical training of senior students, graduate students and teachers in the ICT industry. The program is primarily aimed at students planning to work in information and communication companies. Huawei has already opened network academies in seven universities of Russia, including Bauman MGTU, HSE, MISIS, MIREA, SUT, LETI, ITMO.
