Friendly evening “About Japan - with love” will be held at NEFU

On November 14, the Department “Russian as a Foreign Language” of the Philological Faculty holds a friendly evening “About Japan - with love” dedicated to the bilateral year between Russia and Japan. Japanese students will perform for foreign students of North-Eastern Federal University at the event.

“About 60 international students to attend the friendly evening. The evening will begin with the story of foreign students from Japan about their country. This day, several people will tell about national holidays, musical instruments, traditions and customs of life in Japan”, said Elena Dishkant, associate professor of the Department of Russian Language as a Foreign of the Faculty of Philology.

Students will hold a master class in creating Japanese origami. “One of the students will tell about the small peoples of Japan, the Ainu. Then the foreign student will play the Japanese national instrument. He will also talk about how he learned to play the khomus and then will play it”, said the associate professor.

“Another student will talk about Japanese poetry and will read a poem in Japanese. At the end of the evening, the organizers will hold a quiz about Japan for foreigners”, noted Elena Dishkant.
