The French Club opened at NEFU

The French Club has opened at North-Eastern Federal University for students who want to improve their spoken French and continue education on exchange programs at universities in France, according to Izabella Borisova, Director of the French Resource Center at NEFU International Relations Office.

“This year we are launching the French Club for students of all directions, not only language specialties. It is a live communication with native speakers on various topics, which allows students to develop skills in spoken French. The speakers are students and teachers of NEFU from French-speaking countries who come to our university on exchange programs”, she said.

According to Borisova, the number of joint NEFU master’s and bachelor’s programs with universities in France is growing. “Students who will go to France through exchange programs need to expand their language skills. Classroom learning for this is not enough, you need to always practice. The French Club, in my opinion, is an ideal environment for the practice of language”, she said.

One of the club’s speakers is Joseph Bagur, a student of the Russian-French master’s program in geomatics at NEFU. “NEFU students are interested in the living conditions of students in France. In particular, many questions are asked about the education system. A lot of motivated students come who would like to continue their studies in France”, he said.
