The first Forum of the Association of Technical Universities of Russia and China (ATURC) is held in Yakutsk at North-Eastern Federal University. NEFU Interim Rector Evgenia Mikhailova expressed her hope that the cooperation of the leading universities of the two powers will lead to the establishment of effective projects in the field of Arctic development.

According to NEFU Interim Rector, the establishment of federal universities, national research institutions in Russia - this is a good program that launched from the traditions laid down in the People's Republic of China. "Nowadays, NEFU is among the top 30 universities in Russia and ranked 28th in the national ranking, and our joint efforts to develop the talents, abilities and competencies of students, to create conditions for gaining knowledge and practical skills allowed the university to enter the top ten best universities in Russia", said Evgenia Mikhailova.

At the opening of the forum, the head of the federal university wished the participants fruitful cooperation in the development of the Arctic, pointing out that the issues of the quality of life of the inhabitants of the northern and arctic territories today should be on the first place. "The scientific community needs to find solutions, how to anticipate climate change, how to make construction in the North reliable and sustainable, and medical services more accessible. I'm sure the great powers of Russia and China will be able to find rational solutions", said Evgenia Mikhailova.
