NEFU students are invited to the Superfinal of the International Internet Olympiad in Israel

Students of the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics of North-Eastern Federal University Aleksey Khokholov and Aysen Kychkin became the winners of the III round of the Open International Student Internet Olympiad in Mathematics (OIIO - Open International Internet-Olympiad). Prize-winners of the final stage are invited to the Superfinal of the Olympiad, which will be held in October this year at Aeriel University (Israel).

As a result of the competition, Aleksey Khokholov won a silver medal and a second-degree diploma, Aysen Kychkin – won a bronze medal and a third-degree diploma.

According to the assistant professor of NEFU Institute of Mathematics and Informatics Evgeny Sharin, three students of the federal university were invited to participate in the final stage of the Olympiad, who became winners of the second round, but only two could take part. "The third round of the open student Olympiad in mathematics was held in the traditional form - the participants solved tasks in writing. Then the tasks were checked by the members of the international jury", the head of the students said.

The final stage was held on the basis of Volga State Technological University (Yoshkar-Ola) from 16 to 18 May. A total of 94 students from 64 universities and branches of Russian universities, including Kyrgyzstan, Slovenia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan participated in it. Geography of the participants covered all the federal districts of our country, including the countries of near and far abroad.
