Visa information for foreign citizens coming to the North-Eastern Federal University
For students and professors First visa is single entry, issued at the Consulate of Russia in home country, and is valid for up to 3 months. If needed the visa is extended upon the student’s arrival at the North-Eastern Federal University up to 1 year of stay and becomes multiple.
For scientists and researchers (participation in scientific conferences, seminars, symposia, workshop and research in libraries of the university): The maximum period of stay in the territory of Russia is 1 year. A single entry visa is valid for up to 3 months. A multiple visa is valid up to 1 year (it allows you to stay in the Russian Federation no more than 90 days during each period of 180 days). Visa is issued at the Consulate of Russia in home country. No extensions on the territory of Russian Federation.
In order to apply for a Russian visa every foreign citizen must have an invitation letter from the university. After filling out the following form: https://forms.gle/QarVLVzmqjeZMf6J7 we apply with your documents to Migration Office. The process of making invitation letter takes up to 20 business days. Invitation is issued in the electronic form.
*According to the agreement between the European Community and Russia on the facilitation of the issuance of visas some citizens of EU coming for a short-term can apply for visa using a simple invitation with the signature of our rector.
