Professor Chiang Chengjun "NEFU and Heilongjiang University to cooperate closely"

On November 16, V Lena meetings "Geopolitics of the East. XXI Century", dedicated to the theme of stability in a changing world, were completed in Yakutsk. Professor Chiang Chengjun, deputy director of the Center for Russia Study of Heilongjiang University, participated at the expert event of North-Eastern Federal University for the first time.

During several days, the analyst club members discussed what causes led to instabilities in the changing world and how they can be solved. "The attitude to historical issues in each state is different, as is the psychological factor", said the professor. "The powers have their own vision for certain events, that’s why there are territorial disputes and other conflicts".

Some contradictions between states can be solved through the economy, according to Professor of Heilongjiang University. "As an example, the current relations between China and the Republic of Korea turned into a strategic mutually beneficial cooperation from the strained", explained Chiang Chengjun.

The expert from Harbin also noted that Heilongjiang and North-Eastern Federal University will closely cooperate. "Our universities are actively cooperating with each other and already have three agreements that relate to student education and joint research", said the deputy director of the Center for Russia Study at Heilongjiang University, adding that there are also agreements for exchange programs in future.
