On November 3, the Medical Institute of North-Eastern Federal University and the School of Medicine of the University of Niigata (Japan) signed a cooperation agreement. Within the framework of the agreement, universities will exchange students, conduct joint scientific work.
This agreement will resume cooperation between universities - in 2004 the first agreement between educational institutions was signed, within the framework of which students and teachers of the Medical Institute were trained in Japan in the School of Medicine.
"First of all, there will be short-term exchange courses for students, residents and doctors. In the future, we will start cooperation on educational mobility programs: our students will study in Japan, and Japanese students will come to us", said Nikolay Gogolev, Director of NEFU Medical Institute.
Delegation of the University of Niigata arrived in Yakutsk on November 1. Within two days the university professors met with the faculty and students of NEFU MI, told about the events that will be held within the framework of the agreement. Also, Tatsuo Ushiki, Director of the Medical School of the University of Niigata, gave a lecture on biomedical technology in Japan.
