NEFU entered the number of winners in competitive selection of scientific projects, which will be supported in 2017. Committee of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science recognized four interdisciplinary projects of NEFU scientists on genetics, limnology, nanotechnology and philology as one of two best among 2500 representatives.

NEFU will get financing for realization of large projects: in the field of “Biogeographical regularities of lakes biota in the arctic zone of Russian North-East” under the direction of Lyudmila Petryakova, the main scientific member of the Institute of Natural Sciences, “Genetically isolated populations of Eastern Siberia: evolution of genofond, adaptation to cold weather, prevalence of some hereditary and infection diseases” by Sardana Fedorova, the director of scientific and research laboratory of molecular biology at the Institute of Natural Sciences.

The projects of Professor Aytalina Okhlopkova “Research of PNCs adaptation to environment and development of its regulation methods” and head of academic center “Typology of languages and intercultural communication” Svetlana Prokopyeva “The comparison of categories of Yakutian language imagery with Kazakh, Kirghiz, Altai and Mongolian languages” were supported. Special Committee of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science with the participation of the Council for Science and STI project office selected 444 projects from 125 organizations.

 “If we look at the winner-projects, it appears, that the research at the intersection of some scientific disciplines received state support”, said Valentina Dmitrieva, the director of Center for Scientific Programs and Grants of NEFU Research Management. According to the director, all funds received will be used to undertake analytical work with the use of different equipment and expandable materials, devices for work of scientific equipment, participation in conferences and expedition works.
