Rectors Forum: Vice President of Hokkaido University Tsuneko Mochizuki noted projects with NEFU

The VI Japanese-Russian Forum of Rectors “University and Society: Science and Education in the Modern World” was held in Moscow at Lomonosov Moscow State University on October 6 to 7.

The forum was attended by more than 60 rectors of Japanese universities and over forty heads of Russian universities. Rector of North-Eastern Federal University Evgenia Mikhailova represented Yakutia.

The forum participants discussed current issues of Russian-Japanese cooperation in the scientific and educational fields, including the system of higher education in both countries, scientific exchanges between Russian and Japanese institutions, as well as research of the Arctic.

Vice-President of Hokkaido University Tsuneko Mochizuki told about joint projects with the Russian universities. She pointed the importance of the research project COPERA, including RJE3 Program 2014-2018 for the preparation of master's students in various specialties in five universities of the Russian Far East, where NEFU is the leading scientific and educational institution of Russia.

Let us remember that currently NEFU has 13 agreements on cooperation with the Japanese leading scientific and educational institutions. Cooperation includes the organization of academic mobility programs for students and faculty, exchange of experts to conduct teaching and lecturing, joint research and training of highly qualified experts with knowledge of the Japanese language.
