Professors of foreign and Russian universities introduce students of NEFU Institute of Foreign Philology and Regional Studies (IFPRS) with the basics of creative writing, contemporary foreign literature and medialinguistics. On May 25, Professor Jan Borm at the University of Versailles-Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines gave a lecture on contemporary French and English literature within the framework of the decade, dedicated to the Philologist’s Day.

"I prepared an overview of contemporary British fiction and literature of France, which, I think, linguists need to know. I am pleased to participate in this decade, as our universities have long partnership relations", said Professor Jan Borm.

The development of the humanities in higher education institutions is important for the entire society, according to the Institute of Foreign Philology and Regional Studies. "Historical, legal, psychological, sociological, pedagogical and, of course, the philosophical knowledge are important. Knowledge of foreign languages is of great importance, contributing to the mutual understanding of people of different national cultures. The fact that the leading international scholars as Jan Borm, Liz Williams come to Yakutia is a good indication that NEFU is a scientific and cultural center of the Far Eastern region of Russia ", said Lena Zamorschikova, the associate professor of English Philology (IFPRS).

Within the decade, British writer Liz Williams, Professor Tatiana Dobrosklonskaya of the Faculty of Humanitarian Technologies of the Russian New University, examiner of International Examinations YLE, KET, PET, FCE, CAE, IELTS, and associate professor Elena Bogolubova of the St. Petersburg Academy of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education gave lectures.
