Politologists of Japan, China, Korea and Russia to discuss the effects of industrial revolution

North-Eastern Federal University will bring together politologists from Japan, China, Korea and Russia, at the Lena meetings "Geopolitics of the East. XXI Century". Forum will be held as the roundtable on April 26.

Lena meetings are held in the federal university for the fourth time. According to project coordinator Oleg Sidorov, Head of the Department of Journalism at NEFU Faculty of Philology, the discussion will be devoted to the problems of the industrial revolution.

The main initiator of the project, the first President of Yakutia Mikhail Nikolayev said that the world technological revolution united people with social networks and the Internet, creating new reality. "This new technological world will completely change our ideas about life, about politics. There will be completely new forms of society and public life management. All this excites most of the population, and especially the political elite", said Mikhail Nikolayev.

"Lena meetings form the club, at the meetings of which topical issues of geopolitics are discussed, said Oleg Sidorov. – According to the experts, the fourth industrial revolution is a "web space", "digitization" of the world, future technology development of the XXI century. Participants will discuss questions about what place the Asian countries, Russia, its regions, as well as Yakutia occupy in this process", said Oleg Sidorov.

It is expected that 14 representatives of the four countries will participate. There are the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Director of the Institute for Social Development in Europe Li Fenglin, Professor Kang Duck Soo at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, chief researcher at the Institute of Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Xue Futsi, Professor Ham Yong Jun at Dongguk University, Professor Shimotomai Nobuo of the Faculty of Law at Hosei University, economist, Director of the Institute for Economic Research of Japanese Association for trade with Russia and the Newly independent States (ROTOBO) Kunio Okada.

Lena meetings "Geopolitics of the East. XXI Century" took place for the first time in August 2013. The initiators of the event were the first President of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Mikhail Nikolayev and Dean of the Graduate School of Television of Moscow State University Vitaly Tretyakov.
