NEFU engineering, economics and math students will train at NEFU Engineering Design Forum conducted by the professor Jin Ho Cho. At the end of the forum, students will present the results of their work for solving actual issues of construction and industry.

“Similar courses of engineering design the professor conducts at the Myongji University, Republic of Korea. He designed special courses for NEFU students, where students will develop the projects dedicated to solve the actual technical issues”, Innokentiy Sivtsev, the chief specialist of NEFU Institute of the East, said.

“When I first arrived to Yakutsk, I was surprised by the pipes that stand above the ground. Actual engineering issues in Yakutia require modern solutions like pipe parts compression, industrial lubricants that could withstand extreme cold, new water and energy supply systems. Arctic Innovation Center, RAS Institute of Oil and Gas and NEFU Institute of Engineering and Technology now offering their own solutions”, Jin Ho Cho, visiting professor, pointed. Since 2012, the professor works to create new materials and lubricants capable to withstand temperature of -70 by Celsius at NEFU science lab.

Working language of the forum is English and professor addressed the students with following words: “If you want to succeed at industry or science you have to master the English language. The most efficient way to learn the language is to utilize it that’s why you should make all projects and presentations in English”.
