Guide in English, developed by the authors of NEFU Mirny Polytechnic Institute, being approved for the training of engineers at Moscow Mining University, NEFU Mining Institute and in the branch. Recently, the guide was recognized the winner of the international exhibition of educational editions in Sochi.

 Workbook “English for Diamond Miners” is the only English edition, dedicated to the diamond mining industry in Western Yakutia, Russia and other countries, intended for students of the specialty "Mining", said Raisa Ivanova, co-author, Associate Professor, Department of English Philology, Mirny Polytechnic Institute.

"Materials for the compilation of the textbook were the authentic texts from the official websites of the world's leading companies - ALROSA, De Beers, Rio Tinto group, as well as the materials of the media. The book consists of 22 thematic units that show key aspects of the diamond industry in Russia and other countries. New units, included in the republication, reflect the specifics of the diamond industry and the role of the mining industry – these are the units on the impact of mining on the environment, mine design, electrical engineering and automation in the mining industry, business communication and participation in the industry events", Raisa Petrova said.

According to the Department of English Philology, the first edition of the workbook “English for Diamond Miners” under the editorship of NEFU Professor Goldman Albina was developed with the support of NEFU Rector’s grant for realization of initiative scientific research.

Republication published by the publishing house "Flint" in Moscow in 2014. The team of authors was awarded the diploma of the winner of the international exhibition-presentation of the teaching publications, which took place in Sochi. In 2015, the authors were awarded the gold medal of the Paris International Book Fair, and other book exhibitions.
